A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, January 9, 2018, at 12 p.m., at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Creole, Louisiana for Gervis Adam Conner, 86, who passed away surrounded by his loved ones on January 6,2018.

Mr. Conner was born on February 5, 1931 to Theophile and Bernice Conner of Creole, whom lived with his mother's parents, Aruthur & Osite Baccigalopi, assisting them with their farm and cattle herd. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, January 9, 2018, at 12 p.m., at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Creole, Louisiana for Gervis Adam Conner, 86, who passed away surrounded by his loved ones on January 6,2018.

Mr. Conner was born on February 5, 1931 to Theophile and Bernice Conner of Creole, whom lived with his mother's parents, Aruthur & Osite Baccigalopi, assisting them with their farm and cattle herd. He began school in 1936 and graduated in the largest class, 31, from Creole High School in 1948 and worked in a mechanic shop until his enlistment to the United States Army. He began his journey, first to Ft. Sill, Oklahoma before joining and completing basic training and mechanical training, at Ft. Gordon, Georgia with 30-40 other enlistees. His first duty station was in Harau, Germany, serving at a Service Depot and furthering his education at U.S. Arm Force Institute earning his diploma in business. In 1952 he departed from Germany arriving back in the United States at Camp Kilmen, New Jersey then traveling to South Carolina where he received an honorable discharge having earned the rank of E-4. Upon return to his beloved Creole, he became deeply rooted to serve others in the local community organizations and groups.

Left with a lifetime of memories to forever cherish are his children; son, Tim Conner and wife Cynthia; two daughters, Jackie Huse and Janice Broussard and husband Shane; fourteen grandchildren, Jobe and wife Dana, Lancey and Laura, Santana and husband Trey, Brandon and wife Lauren, Courtney, Cody, Keisha and husband Jake, Cory and wife Mary Beth, Tiffany and husband Timmy, Adam and wife Kayln, Jordan, Madison, and Brianna; twenty-six great-grandchildren, Baleigh, Taylor, Cayden, Grayson, Makenzi, Wyatt, Adrianna, Liam, Ella Kate, Raylee, Adam, Tenley, Jaxton, Gavin, Raegan, Reyce, Noah, Kyndal, Baylor, Mia, Elizabeth, Emmalea, Demi, Darby, Ethan and Paislee.

Preceding Mr. Conner in death were his devoted wife of 57 years, Leola Conner, one son, Douaine Conner and one grandson Channing Conner.

Family and friends are invited to the visitation beginning from 3:00pm until 9:00 p.m. on January 8, 2018, with a Holy Rosary prayed at 7pm at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Visitation will resume on January 9, from 9:00 a.m. at the Life Center of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Creole. Mr. Conner will be buried alongside his wife Leola, son, Douaine Conner and grandson, Channing Conner at Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery in Creole.
