LeVergne Moles Fogleman, age 92, died Friday, August 4, 2017 after a long illness. Mrs. Fogleman, a resident of Lake Charles for over 50 years, was born in El Paso, TX, to Hunter and Pauline Moles on March 30, 1925. She was a graduate of University Lab School in Baton Rouge and Louisiana State University, with a master's in library science. She worked as a librarian at McNeese State University for many years until her retirement. LeVergne Moles Fogleman, age 92, died Friday, August 4, 2017 after a long illness. Mrs. Fogleman, a resident of Lake Charles for over 50 years, was born in El Paso, TX, to Hunter and Pauline Moles on March 30, 1925. She was a graduate of University Lab School in Baton Rouge and Louisiana State University, with a master's in library science. She worked as a librarian at McNeese State University for many years until her retirement. She was a caring mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and was always there to help her family through the hard times and to celebrate the good times.
Mrs. Fogleman was married to Dr. C.W. Fogleman for 62 years until his death in 2006. For many years she was an active member of Trinity Baptist Church, where she worked with children. Later she was a member of Sale Street Baptist Church, where she volunteered many hours in the church's library.
Mrs. Fogleman is survived by her brother, Dr. Arthur Moles of Baton Rouge, and her three daughters: Donna Nelson (Robert) of Winnsboro, Jerry White of Panama City, FL, and Judy Smith (Dale) of Lake Charles. She is also survived by eight grandchildren: John Nelson (Becky) of Austin, TX; Deborah Chance (Matt) of Arab, AL; Lissa Brink (Joshua) of Memphis, TN; Rebecca Kennedy (Bart) of Panama City, FL; Philip White (Julia) of Atlanta, GA; Melissa Smith and Emily Greening (Ryan) of Dallas, TX; and Shelly Smith of Charleston, WV. She is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, C.W. Fogleman, her parents, and two brothers: Robert Moles and Walton Moles.
Services for Mrs. Fogleman will be at 11am on Monday, August 7, 2017 at Hixson Funeral Home in Lake Charles. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the time of the service. Dr. Matthew Chance will officiate, and burial will be at Prien Memorial Park Cemetery following the service.
