Micheline Richard, 87, died at 2:30 a.m. Friday, April 7, 2017 at Baybrooke Village Care and Rehabilitation Center in McKinney, Texas.
She was born in Eaubonne, France, and lived in many cities across the world before emigrating to the U.S. in 1953 and settling in Lake Charles, Louisiana in 1979. In addition to raising her children, she worked as a seamstress for Riff's Department store in Lake Charles for many years before retiring and working from home. She was a dog lover and an avid reader of paperback novels. She also enjoyed doing needlepoint, crafts...

Micheline Richard, 87, died at 2:30 a.m. Friday, April 7, 2017 at Baybrooke Village Care and Rehabilitation Center in McKinney, Texas.
She was born in Eaubonne, France, and lived in many cities across the world before emigrating to the U.S. in 1953 and settling in Lake Charles, Louisiana in 1979. In addition to raising her children, she worked as a seamstress for Riff's Department store in Lake Charles for many years before retiring and working from home. She was a dog lover and an avid reader of paperback novels. She also enjoyed doing needlepoint, crafts and was a talented knitter who made beautiful afghans for many of her family and friends. She spent the last year and a half of her life in the Dallas area living with her daughter's family.
Survivors include her two children, Christopher Richard (Crissy) of Palm Bay, Florida and Francine Pelan (Dana) of Prosper, Texas; her seven grandchildren, Allison Schwartz (Alex), Kimberly Nimmo (Michael), and Samantha Richard of Melbourne, Florida, Hillary Pelan of Chicago, Illinois, John Pelan, Adam Pelan, and Paul Pelan of Prosper, Texas; and her great granddaughter Ada Schwartz born on March 21, 2017 of Melbourne, Florida.
Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 17 at Hixon's Funeral Home in Lake Charles. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
